Just recently Roger and I returned from Los Angeles,
California, where we spent 5 wonderful days at the
Fundamental Baptist Tabernacle. About 140 people, including
ages 8 to 94, came to "Camp in the City" for Friday,
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of Labor Day Weekend. It was an
amazing opportunity to share God's Word with folks from all
ages and at least 20 ethnic groups--China, Korea, Viet Nam,
Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Guatemala, SA, Columbia SA,
Mexico, Cuba, and many others. The church served lunch and
dinner daily to the whole group, and it was
delicious--wonderfully prepared and brought in individual
serving plates at our tables. The food was provided without
charge for all the visitors. While we ate, we enjoyed films
on John Newton, David Brainerd, the revivals occurring in
China, and other inspiring subjects. We ate birthday cake
and celebrated many birthdays, even watching Popeye films
from the 30's.
